Chemical Injection DPC
Where the problem has been identified as rising
damp, and where a damp proof course is absent or
inadequate, we offer different methods of retrofitting one;
Chemical DPC and Electro Osmosis DPC.
Chemical Injection DPC
The installation of a chemical injection damp proof course is
designed to create a continuous chemical barrier throughout the
length and width of the wall to reduce the capillary rise of water
up the wall. This is usually carried out by pressure injection,
using high pressure and low pressure techniques, using an aqueous
based fluid. A series of holes are drilled into the joints to a
pattern determined by the thickness and construction of the wall.
Then the chemical is injected into the wall creating a continuous
barrier.
Chemical injection DPC is usually used for brick or block
buildings; though our experienced surveyors will recommend the most
suitable remedial action, and provide a detailed written survey and
quotation. Our trained surveyors will also identify any
timbers which have been affected by dry rot or wet rot, as a result of the exposure
to the damp conditions. We may provide an insurance backed
guarantee for all remedial damp works carried out.
Occasionally, it may be preferable to use the Newlath damp
proof membrane system.
